Reducing energy costs in the long term

Lower humidity = lower heating costs!

Ventilating with Regel-air® window rebate vents reduces the relative humidity in the flat. This has been proven to lower heating costs. It also prevents mould growth and improves indoor air quality.

How does indoor humidity affect the room temperature?

Is it advisable to lower the temperature?

A general reduction in room temperature in regularly used living spaces increases the risk of mould. Warmer air can physically hold more moisture than colder air. Conversely, colder indoor air increases the risk that moisture generated by cooking, showering, breathing, sweating, etc. will condense on the cold surfaces in the room.

Particularly at risk are cold external walls, cool surfaces within the room, and also recessed areas where moisture is difficult to remove through ventilation. If relative humidity remains above 75–80 per cent for days or weeks, this can encourage the growth of mould within just a few days.

The solution!

Cost-effective and tried and tested over decades

Through the use of Regel-air® window rebate vents, a minimal and automatic air exchange takes place in the flat.

And best of all: they work even when the windows are closed and the occupants are away. However, you should also open the windows during periods of high demand, such as after showering, cooking or sleeping.

Another advantage

air preheating in the window rebate

The window rebate, which is used for air supply in the Regel-air® system FFL system, has a rebate temperature of over 10 °C when the outside temperature is, for example, -5 °C and the inside temperature is, for example, +20 °C. In the case of PVC window, fresh outside air is supplied into the lower vertical section of the window frame. It is continuously preheated in the window rebate and rises through the long section of the profile into the room via the Regel-air® system located at the top.

This effect contributes significantly to an improved energy balance for home ventilation with Regel-air®.
