Ventilating without opening windows
– How is that supposed to work?

The Regel-air ® principle is as simple as it is ingenious.

The basis of the FFL, PLUS and FORTE ventilation systems is always the window rebate vents FFL, which reacts automatically to wind pressure. The ventilation modules contain flaps which close when wind pressure on the building increases. They open again when the pressure decreases. The use of Regel-air® window ventilators does not alter the appearance of the windows, either from the inside or the outside. Through careful planning ventilation concept and professional installation, mould damage caused by incorrect ventilation practices can be effectively prevented.

The Regel-air® window rebate vents are also ideal as supply air elements for extract air systems and for combustion air supply. High air volumes are often required, particularly in conjunction with extract air systems. The PLUS and FORTE systems are available for this purpose. With the PLUS ventilation system, an overlap vent is additionally to the FFL fitted to the lower sash overlap. This can be operated manually as required. The FORTE ventilation system consists of window rebate vent FFL a pair of slide vent SL units, which are fitted to the upper sash overlap. In this system, air intake takes place exclusively in the upper part of the window.

This video focuses on a particularly fascinating topic: the world of energy efficiency and indoor air quality. It explores how living spaces can be made not only more energy-efficient, but also healthier.

Germany’s best-known energy consultant introduces the innovative Regel-air® vents. These compact yet effective systems could offer a suitable solution to numerous challenges in living spaces. Their significance and the benefits they bring are explained in more detail below.

An insight into how simple measures can be used to achieve an improved indoor climate rounds off the topic.

How it works and fresh air supply

In most Regel-air® window rebate vent systems, automatic two-stage control is provided by two or more individual modules. When wind speeds increase, the ventilation flaps automatically close.

Areas of application

The Regel-air® vents are mainly used in cross ventilation. They can also be installed in conjunction with extract air systems, as supply air units for combustion air supply and shaft ventilation.

Reducing energy costs in the long term

Ventilation using Regel-air® window rebate vents reduces the relative humidity in the flat. This has been proven to reduce heating costs. It also prevents mould growth and improves indoor air quality.

Combustion air supply

In the case of room-air-dependent fireplaces, the air required for combustion must flow in from outside into the rooms where the fireplaces are installed. The Regel-air® window rebate vents FFL serve as a recognised supply air element.

The effect of wind and thermal currents on ventilation

What many people don’t realise is that wind is still the most natural, cleanest and most cost-effective driving force for the home ventilation. Although its strength may not always be constant, it is the perfect way to ensure continuous ventilation of living spaces.
